Smile for A Lifetime Foundation

That’s why Harwell & Cook Orthodontics donates its services to Smile for a Lifetime – our international, non-profit organization making orthodontic treatment a reality for underserved kids and adults.

Serving our communities is personal. Dr. Harwell and Dr. Cook take part in Smile for a Lifetime, a non-profit foundation that provides orthodontic treatment across North America for patients who may not have the chance to achieve straight smiles without financial assistance.

A healthy smile can change a child’s future. Harwell & Cook Orthodontics believes confidence from a beautiful, healthy smile helps kids excel in life’s challenges and opportunities, and we hope scholarship recipients grow into leaders who can positively impact their community.

A program built to reach those in need. Launched in 2008, Smile for a Lifetime supports individuals with financial challenges, special situations, and unique orthodontic needs, sponsoring care for hundreds of patients each year, including children ages 7 through 18 facing financial and family hardship.

Support often includes more than orthodontics. Many scholarship recipients also need dental care like prophylaxis, restorations, and extractions, and several area dentists partner with Harwell & Cook Orthodontics to provide these services at reduced cost, or no cost, to the foundation.

How To Apply

There is an application process to participate, which includes income verification, a photo of the applicant, and two letters of recommendation. The board, comprised of a diverse group of active community members, reviews each application, taking into account financial and orthodontic need, extenuating family circumstances, and the applicant’s overall character.
